Original quote :  why do sociologist study religion ? for the centuries, humankind has sought to understand and explain the "meaning of life." many philosophers believe this contemplation and the desire to understand our place in the universe are what differentiate humankind from other species. religion, in one form or another, has been found in all human Societes since human societes first appeared. archaeological digs have revealed ritual objects, ceremonial burial sites, and other religious artifacts. social conflict and even wars often result from religious disputes. to understand a culture, sociologist must study its religion.

Effective paraphrase : Sociology is the study of society. In a society there are several important components, such as religion, family, politics, and law. however there is one important component to be learned is religion. because in religion there is a rule of life, so that makes us comfortable through life, and with our understanding of religion makes us different creatures found other. Already on site historic sites that show signs of religion did exist, and it is important to be learned , even conflict in society today happen because of religious disputes, for example, cases of blasphemy by the governor of Jakarta. therefore it is important to study a sociologist of religion.
